THE EXTREME HANGOUT
Inspired by our love of adventure sports and our passion to protect the planet, EXTREME made it its mission to give the youth a voice at COP26 and beyond.
From 1st to 11th November 2021, The EXTREME Hangout at COP26 was an exciting youth-focused hub and event activation in Glasgow. A platform for active participation and a space for inspiration, engagement, education, and entertainment, the Extreme Hangout represents a coming together and celebration of all those who share a passion for the healthy recovery of our natural world.
BE THE POSITIVE CHANGE THAT THIS PLANET NEEDS
WHAT IS COP26?
For the past 26 years the United Nations has brought together almost every country on earth for global climate summits, called COPs (Conference of the Parties). In the time since the first ever COP in Berlin in 1995, climate change has transformed from being a fringe issue to a global crisis.
This year, the 26th COP will be held in Glasgow from 1st – 12th November 2021. With an expected attendance of over 30,000, COP26 will be the most significant climate event since the 2015 Paris Agreement and is set to drive vital and urgent action for the future of our planet.
COP26 will be “the world’s best last chance to get runaway climate change under control” – United Nations
